My Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

As Pastor of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, I bring you greetings and a warm welcome into our congregation.  I am happy that you have chosen to become a part of this great body, and I consider your decision to be a wise choice, for we must not neglect the assembly of one another as one body in Christ.  Our slogan here at Canaanis:  “We are a church with a heart.”  Not only is this a saying of ours, but we try to exemplify this in our actions, as you will discover as you participate in the many ministries within our church family.  How can you participate?  Simply by joining any group and/or ministry you see listed within this handbook.  Each of the ministries is desperately seeking new members to bring new, challenging, and invigorating ideas to worship, celebrate and serve One Master, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  By joining with one of these groups, you will begin to live out the words of my most favorite scripture found in James 1:22 “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

My love for Christ our Redeemer and His chosen people obligates me to constantly remind them to not just know, but also do the will of God.
